Moving in
How moving in works.
Choosing a care home is a big decision, often made at a difficult time. We try to make the steps clear and unhurried.
- 01
Get in touch
Tell us who the care is for and what matters most. We'll talk it through and suggest which of the six homes is likely to suit — or whether care at home might fit better.
- 02
Come and look round
Visit the home, meet the team, see the rooms and shared spaces. Bring family. There's no obligation, and no better way to know if a home feels right.
- 03
A needs assessment
Before anyone moves in we carry out a careful assessment of care needs — health, mobility, memory, the daily routine — so we can be sure the home is the right one and plan the support properly.
- 04
Settling in
We take moving day gently, help personalise the room, and keep family in the loop through the first days and weeks while everything becomes familiar.
A word on funding
Paying for care doesn’t have to be a maze.
Care in the UK can be funded privately, by the local authority after a financial assessment, or — where there’s a primary health need — through NHS Continuing Healthcare or NHS-funded nursing care. It isn’t always obvious which route applies. We’re happy to talk you through the options for your situation and point you to independent advice where it helps.
Fees vary by home and by the level of care needed — we’ll give you a clear figure for the right home when we understand the needs.
